If you are travelling for your own business purposes and have a VAT ID number registered with your local tax jurisdiction, you may provide your VAT ID number in the check-out page at the time of the booking; if the number is validated, HomeAway will apply the reverse-charge of the VAT in the jurisdictions where the reverse-charge mechanism is applicable. It will be your responsibility to self-assess whether you need to pay VAT for the use of our services.

If you are travelling as an employee for business purposes and your employer has a VAT ID number registered with its local tax jurisdiction, you may create an account with the billing information of this company and then add this VAT ID to your booking on the check-out page; if the number is validated, HomeAway will apply the reverse-charge of the VAT in the jurisdictions where the reverse-charge mechanism is applicable. It will be your responsibility to self-assess whether you need to pay VAT for the use of our services.

Can I provide you with a VAT number after I have placed the order?
Our invoices cannot be re-issue, amended or edited, then the VAT cannot be refunded to you after the payment has been processed even if you have a valid VAT ID number.

Problems verifying European members VAT ID number
If your VAT ID number cannot be verified and you determine you need to self-assess VAT on our service fees, we encourage you to consult a tax advisor for assistance.
